Challenge

As the largest charity of its type in the South West, Young Devon’s mission is to make Devon a better place for all young people. Having been in existence for almost 70 years, the charity was reliant on a website that featured excessive content developed over the years, none of which clearly communicated Young Devon’s services and opportunities.

Solution

With an increasingly mobile-driven audience, the Altitude team set out to create a modern, image-led, mobile-first website to concisely and effectively communicate the charity’s core messages and services.

Working in partnership with 51 Studio to develop new brand guidelines, the new website simplified Young Devon’s digital offering to succinctly communicate how they can support young people, ensuring that frequent calls to action to get in contact were interspersed throughout the site.

Designed and built with a young audience in mind; a key area of the site development was the simplification of the website’s forms to encourage visitors to complete the form on a frame-by-frame basis rather than face a long, often off-putting, form.

Feedback

Within days of launching, the new site delivered a significant increase in the volume of enquiries being submitted to the team, highlighting the success of the new design and an improved user experience.
