Gill Mills is an experienced TV and radio broadcaster. She left her job as a DJ specialising in new and independent music at BBC Radio 1 to help set up iCast. They create podcasts for labels such as Virgin, Wichita, Breastfed, Transgressive, Something In Construction, Gronland, Skint and many more. Some of the artists they have worked with include Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Patrick Wolf, The Bees, Willy Mason, The Cribs and Bat For Lashes, whilst they also cover events such as T in the Park and the Go North festivals.

We designed and developed the new iCast website so users can quickly download the podcast they want to listen to.

In my capacity as director of iCast UK Ltd I can confirm that Altitude Design has completely re-designed our website and forum area, resulting in a far more attractive and user friendly site, ideally suited to our expanding needs as a music podcast company.

They took the design initiative and suggested new ways of site layout to ease access, new colour schemes and a new way of ordering the information. They then responded to a tricky request that we turn the site into a blog format to increase our google listing status, and secondly that we create a stand alone player in the forum on which we could place three tracks for free download which the member then voted on for release as a possible single. They took all of these requests on board and has created a top quality site - in design, functionality and interesting use of forums, members areas and the unique requirements of a site dedicated to promoting podcasts and iCast.

Throughout the consultation process Altitude were professional, intelligent, thoughtful and displayed a real understanding both of web design, but also podcasting and music. Coupled with his very clear communicative techniques in talking through the basics with the client and his almost intuitive grasp of what was required, I would happily recommend Altitude to any of my colleagues, and indeed have already put their name forward for consideration for a job with a huge music management and publishing company.
